Copart price calculator: what will this car sell for?

Price calculator cover: an $11,100 estimate for a 2021 BMW 330e and the total cost to Rotterdam

Paste a Copart or IAAI lot and see what it's likely to sell for, based on similar sales, plus the total cost with fees, shipping, duty and VAT.

A Copart price calculator should answer one question before you bid: what is this car likely to sell for? The auction price calculator on CarAuctionData.com compares the lot with recent sales of similar cars, gives an estimate and a price range, and then adds buyer fees, towing, shipping, duty and VAT to show what the car costs you in total.

Fee calculators answer the second question

Most "Copart calculators" work out the fees on a bid you've already picked. That's useful, but it skips the hard part: picking the bid. Bid too low and you lose every car. Bid too high and the fees, shipping and taxes land on a price that was already too much.

Start from what similar cars sold for. Then set your bid, and only then add the fees.

How the estimate works

Paste a lot link from Copart or IAAI, a lot number, or a 17-character VIN. The calculator looks for recent sales of the same model, close in year and mileage, with similar damage and run condition. It lists every one of those sales, with prices and VINs, so you can check them yourself.

You get:

  • An estimate: a fair price for the car.
  • A price guide in three bands: below market, market price and above market.
  • A maximum bid: the top of the market price band. Bid up to it and you stay out of the range where people overpay.

We tested the estimates on past sales. About half of cars sold inside the likely range and about 8 in 10 inside the wide range.

An example: 2021 BMW 330e

Our example estimate is a real Copart lot: a 2021 BMW 330e with front-end damage, verified as run and drive, 75,240 miles, on a salvage certificate, sold in Southern Illinois on 23 September 2026.

  • Estimate: $11,100
  • Below market: $7,150 to $9,100
  • Market price: $9,100 to $13,600
  • Above market: $13,600 to $17,250
  • Similar sales compared: 130
  • What it actually sold for: $10,000

The car sold inside the market price band. A buyer who set the maximum at $13,600 had room to win it; one who chased it past $13,600 would have paid more than the market.

What else the calculator checks

  • Earlier sales of the same car. If the VIN sold at auction before and is back, you see each earlier sale with its date and price.
  • Runs that didn't sell. If the car went through an auction without selling, you see that too, with the high bid.
  • The sales behind the estimate. Open any of them to compare the photos, damage and mileage with your car.

A car that keeps coming back can be a sign of a problem the photos don't show.

The total cost, not only the bid

The winning bid is only part of what you pay. Under the estimate, the calculator adds:

  • Copart or IAAI buyer fees for that bid,
  • towing from the yard to a US port,
  • shipping to one of five European ports: Rotterdam, Antwerp, Bremerhaven, Gdynia or Klaipėda,
  • import duty and VAT,

in US dollars and euros. Type in a different bid and the total updates, so you can see the landed cost at your maximum bid before the auction starts.

Common questions

Is this a Copart fee calculator?

It includes the Copart and IAAI buyer fees in the total cost, but it starts one step earlier: it tells you what the car is likely to sell for, so you can set the bid the fees are calculated on.

How accurate is the estimate?

We tested it on past sales. About half of cars sold inside the likely range and about 8 in 10 inside the wide range.

What can I paste in?

A Copart or IAAI lot link, a lot number, or a 17-character VIN.

Does the estimate include fees?

No. The estimate is the auction result. The total cost below it adds buyer fees, towing, shipping, duty and VAT.

How many estimates can I run?

A free account gets 3 estimates a day, with no card needed. Dealer accounts use credits instead of daily limits.
